Robin Uthappa – Career Journey is best known for finishing with the highest number of runs in the Ranji Trophy season 2014-15 and contributing towards the Indian team’s 2007 ICC World T20 win. He is known as the “Walking Assassin” among his teammates because of his ability to use a tactic to charge the bowler.

All About Robin Uthappa’s Gameplay

Hailing from Karnataka, Robin Uthappa began his cricket career too young, starting by representing India in the Under-19 tournaments. In 2005 and 2006, he was recognized for his play skills at the Challenger Series (India-B). Soon after, he came into the limelight when national selectors put him into the ODI squad against England, played in India. He has played for various cricket world cups. Robin Uthappa’s career has spanned decades of skill and technique harnessing.

Through the years, Robin Uthappa has played consistently in the Indian Premier League. As one of India’s most sought-after players, he has played for several teams, including the Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors, Chennai Super Kings, and even Rajasthan Royals, being traded at the top of the auction. Having scored over 4427 runs spanning 180 IPL matches, his score is among the highest of the entire tournament.

Internationally, Robin Uthappa has represented India in ODI matches, having made his debut in Indore in 2006, in the NatWest series, One Day International Squad against Sri Lanka, the Cricket World Cup, as well as several T20 matches. With a world record for maintaining ten consecutive 40+ runs, he also became the first Indian cricketer to score half-century runs in an international T20 game in 2007, played against Pakistan.

Robin Uthappa is a batsman known for his right-handed gameplay. He has also played the position of a wicketkeeper in several matches. With excellent performances domestically, internationally, and at the IPL, he has won the orange cap, broken records, and scored the highest number of runs.

Uthappa is usually picked for his aggressive batting style. His bowling style is a right-arm play, and his current auction price in the IPL stands at INR 3 crores, with the Rajasthan Royals. Uthappa has disciplined himself with such a strong profile and grown exponentially as a versatile cricket player over the years. Having been coached and trained for matches across the world, as well as facing a share of disappointment, he has emerged as one of India’s most well-rounded cricket players. His professional career has helped him become fit to train and coach young budding cricket enthusiasts across the country.
