Covid-19 Update : The Sports School’s Response to Corona Virus – Preventive Measures

The Sports School, Bangalore, has been closely monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As the situation continues to change rapidly, our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our staff and students. We have planned for contingency scenarios by taking decisive and informed actions to stop the spread of COVID-19 on campus while ensuring the continuity of our teaching and research mission. Keeping in mind that learning should never stop, we have started online smart classes for both academics and sports coaching, with the hope that your kid can make the best out of this time.

The Sports School is committed to the safety of our students and staff without hindering our core focus of integrating sports and education. Our vast 25 acres infrastructure is on the outskirts of the city; hence there is limited to no interaction between the campus and the residential areas.

There are several other preventive measures in place, such as:

1. Sanitization of Campus

Our campus goes through a regular and rigorous sanitizing process to disinfect any surface that can be potentially harmful. This includes sanitization of both sporting and academic facilities, including but not limited to pieces of equipment, all different playing grounds, classrooms, furniture, etc.

2. Social Distancing

All the norms necessary to follow the social distancing protocols are in place so that close contact with others can be avoided. There may be no physical interaction between anyone, thus reducing the chances of spreading the virus.

3. Regular Temperature Checks:

Our staff and students shall be checked for high-temperatures and will be encouraged to watch for the following symptoms to increase the possible COVID-19 infection detection.

4. Regular Health Checks:

Regular in-house check up by a team of doctors, in-house 24×7 nurse. In case of emergency, we will take students to the renowned Astra hospital.

5. Use of Mask and other Face Coverings

Mandatory use of face masks or any other face coverings is applicable for both staff and students alike. Usage of tissues while sneezing or coughing and their immediate disposal is also mandatory.

6. Regular and Thorough Cleaning Of Hands

To be done with an alcohol-based hand rub or sanitizer (containing at least 60% alcohol) or with soap and water for 20 seconds for reducing the risk of spreading.

7. Other Advisory

We advise staff and students to stay at home in case they feel unwell. If they have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, we encourage them to seek medical attention and call in advance.

The Sports School is committed to maintaining an environment that is safe and secure to support our staff and students. We shall remain operational with appropriate measures to protect the health of the community. The pandemic has undoubtedly changed the protocols we have to live by, but not our vision to create the perfect training ground for champions of tomorrow.
