After a long war with Covid-19 finally, the World Athletics U20 Championships was held in Kenya. Along with other countries, Indian athletes participated with full enthusiasm and kept the flag high. World Athletics U20 Championships is held by World Athletics for athletes under 20 years old. India won two silver and one bronze medal. She won a silver medal at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in the long jump event. 

Shaili Singh is a 17-year-old athlete who belongs to Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. She competes in long jump events. She holds a national record for long jump in the Under-18 category. Shaili won a gold medal in the Under-16 category at the Junior National Athletics Championship with a record of 5.94m in 2018. In 2019, she broke her own record with 6.15m and bagged a gold medal. Amit is a racewalker and won a silver medal at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships. He competed in a 10,000m walk. This young star belongs to Rohtak, Haryana, India. Amit finished his 10,000 m race walk in 42:17.94. Amit is very enthusiastic about his commonwealth games, in an interview, he said he is learning a lot from these championships, will work hard and bring great success to India. The 4X400m mixed relay team of India won a gold medal and marked a new achievement for the country.

Abdul Razzaq, Priya Mohan, Summy and Kapil formed the mixed relay team at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships. The team recorded a time of 3:23.36 seconds and finished on the podium with a bronze medal. It was for the first time when the mixed relay was included in the World Athletics U20 Championships. It will be great to see these runners with more medals.
